This project involved the construction of three classrooms as part of the establishment of Green School New Zealand. Environmental considerations influenced both design and construction and set a high standard for waste reduction and recycling. Each classroom (or ‘Waka’) features an array of curved glulam beams and multifaceted ply which is then covered with Structurflex cladding. Tight timeframes and limited construction tolerances required a very high level of accuracy and efficiency.
